Google Generative AI Search Feature Shows Related Videos and Images

Google’s AI-powered Search Generative Experiment (SGE), a generative AI-powered search feature unveiled at the May I/O conference, is now incorporating contextual photos and videos. Select people who signed up for the experiment through Google Labs were given access to the functionality later in the month by the business.

SGE now displays pictures or videos associated with the search query as a result of the modifications. For example, if you type in “tiniest birds of prey” or “how to remove marble stains,” images of birds or videos relating to stain removal will appear right away in the generative search suggestion box.

According to Google, links that are suggested by SGE are now additionally displayed with the date that they were published.

Contextual images and videos are now included in Google’s AI-powered Search Generative Experiment (SGE), a generative AI-powered search capability revealed at the May I/O conference. Later in the month, the company gave a select group of participants who signed up for the trial through Google Labs access to the capability.

As a result of the changes, SGE now shows images or videos related to the search query. If you type in “tiniest birds of prey” or “how to remove marble stains,” for instance, photographs of birds or videos about stain removal will show immediately away in the generative search suggestion box.

Google has added the publication date to URLs that are suggested by SGE, so that information is now also shown there.

Through a variety of its products, Google is experimenting with generative AI. Bard, the company’s chatbot, recently debuted in the EU and now supports 40 different languages. Several AI-powered capabilities have been introduced by the company across Workspace tools. Additionally, Google has integrated generative AI into business products. Axios reported earlier this week that Google Assistant will also change to make room for generative AI.
